We have met some great local artists and art lovers this summer touring the regional “art in the garden” circuit. In addition to being a lot of fun, we also were introduced to ETSY this summer.
What is “Etsy” you might ask. Well, I asked the same question and was told … “it’s sort of like eBay for artisans“.
Launched in June 2005, Etsy is a social commerce website focused on handmade works by artisans from around the world. You can search thousands of shops and sellers on Etsy, a find an endless array of handcrafted art and crafts. From what I’ve seen so far, it truly is a vibrant global marketplace for handmade goods.
