Mapleseed Gallery Announces Winter 2011/2012 Woodturning Workshop Course Schedule
OWEN SOUND, ON, October 17, 2011 — Have fun learning the art and craft of woodturning in Owen Sound (Ontario). Mapleseed Gallery has just released their winter 2011/2012 wood turning workshop course schedule featuring four exciting hands-on programs. This is a terrific opportunity to try out woodturning for the first time, or to enhance and build on existing skills. Class size is limited to two students, so register early.
“These woodturning courses all focus on safety, fun, and the correct way to use woodturning tools and equipment” said program coordinator Irwin Seidman. With four different programs to choose from, various turning techniques are discussed, demonstrated and practiced with each of the hands-on courses culminating in the creation of a unique take-home project. Irwin also noted that with a small class size (two students max), the atmosphere is relaxed and there is lots of time for one-on-one attention. One recent student commented “Awesome fun! I thought I’d be really nervous, but the small class size and friendly environment made me feel very comfortable. I love my bowl and can hardly wait for the next course. Thanks!!” and another wrote“I took your course to help me decide whether or not I wanted to invest in a lathe and associated tools.
