The 2017 Aperture Photography Show
Mapleseed Gallery is proud to once again be the media and administration sponsor for the 2017 Aperture Photography Show
Following the success their inaugural Aperture Photography Show in 2016, co-presenters Don Sankey and Irwin Seidman have recently announced dates for the 2017 Aperture Photography Show.
With strong support in 2016 from sponsors Foto Art Camera & Frame Shop, Trophies Two & Georgian Gallery, and Parsons Foto Source, the inaugural show represented 15 photographers and exhibited more than 100 images from professional, amateur and student photographers across the region.
The 2016 show was highly visible and very well attended. In addition to a great turnout for the opening reception, the show received tremendous feedback during the month long exhibition and sale. With the main goal of highlighting different photographic styles and techniques, as well as promoting local photographers (and photography in general) the show was called vibrant, energetic and engaging.
The 2017 Aperture Photography Show will once again be held in the Legacy Gallery at the Owen Sound Artists’ Co-op in downtown Owen Sound. The Artists’ Co-op’s, which is located in the historic McKay Building, was spacious and bright and showed off the work exceptionally well.
The event was a wonderful success in 2016 and organizers are looking forward to an equally exciting show in 2017. In addition to exhibiting the works of eight local professional and amateur photographers, the show will include an expanded student showcase. Based on its popularity, the vintage camera collection will be back too.
